K. Siladass is the eldest son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Kunnyyambu. He has thress sisters and two brothers. He was born on 30th June 1938 in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan. He had his early education in the Segamat Government English School.

While studying in Singapore he became interested in Tamil language and its literature. He learned Tamil by himself and with the help of others. He began writing short stories in Tamil. He was instrumental in founding the Tamil Youth Association there. On his return to his home town Segamat, Siladass together with other enthusiastic Tamil Youths founded the Tamil Youth Association in Malaya, and was its president for a few years.

In 1958, he joined as a clerk in a legal firm gardually rising up to the position of a Managing Clerk. In the late fifties he joined the now defunct Labour Party of Malaya and was its Segamat branch Secretary. When Labour Party became inactive, he joined the Democratic Action Party and was its Branch Secretary in Kluang, and its Johore State Secretary.

By 1974, he had his first book 'Quantum in Accident Claims' published, which was well received by the legal profession and the Courts in Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong. This work went into thress volumes, published in 1980 and 1985 respectively.

He enrolled as a student with the Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn to read law. In 1979, he was admitted as Utter Barrister-at-law of the Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn. In 1981 he was admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court in Malaya.

Siladass is the author of a number of law books. He and Tun Abdul Hamid Mohammad, the former Chief Justice of Malaysia, co-authored the Subordinate Courts Practice 1981. He has contributed numerous articles on law and procedure to the law journals. Besides writing in English he has also written short stories and articles in Tamil which had been published in most of the Tamil Media. He continues to write regularly in Tamil on various topics.

Siladass is one of the founder members of the Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn Alumni in Malaysia and has served as its Vice-President for two terms. As a keen golfer, he was the Vice President of the Batu Pahat Golf Club. He served as a Golf Captain of Kluang Country Club from 1999 to 2003, and for the years 2008 and 2009. In 2010 he began serving as the Vice President of the Kluang Country Club.
